Among the first orders of business as administrating organization of this year's U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day (WSD), NIBS was proud to nominate International Code Council CEO Dominic Sims for the prestigious Ronald H. Brown Standards Leadership Award.

Members of the U.S. standards and conformity assessment community will honor Sims during the U.S. celebration on November 14, 2024, in Washington.

NIBS Interim CEO Stephen Ayers submitted a nomination letter to the U.S. Celebration of WSD Committee of the American National Standards Institute and National Institute of Standards and Technology.

"Dominic has long served the nation's built environment, promoting building safety through his steadfast devotion to the implementation and application of building codes and standards," Ayers said, in the nomination letter. "His oversight of ICC has raised the organization into global leadership in the standards arena."
