Applications open for Communities of Color Coordinating Team
The City of Bellevue invites community members to apply for positions on the advisory team for the Bellevue Centers Communities of Color (CCC) initiative. The CCC Coordinating Team is a volunteer group dedicated to working with the city to advance racial equity and foster trust across Bellevue's diverse communities. Applications are due Tuesday, Dec. 10, and can be completed online or by email or mail.
The CCC initiative, a community-led effort approved by the City Council in 2021, aims to build racial literacy, strengthen partnerships and ensure that Bellevue is a place where all community members have the opportunity to grow and thrive. CCC Coordinating Team members work closely with the city to cocreate recommendations and strategies that reflect the unique needs and perspectives of Bellevue's diverse communities.
"This initiative is a vital part of Bellevue's mission to create an inclusive city where everyone feels welcome and valued," said City Manager Diane Carlson. "We believe it's critical we hear from Bellevue's diverse voices as the city continues to grow and change."
Mayor Lynne Robinson added, "In every thing we do, Bellevue strives for a city environment that truly embraces racial equity and diversity. We appreciate the CCC team's expertise and insights to guide our actions."
The city seeks applicants with a range of backgrounds and experiences. Criteria and application details are available at Bellevue Centers Communities of Color.
