City Schedule for Labor Day Holiday: Garbage Collection Will Be Delayed

Des Moines, Iowa-Friday, August 40, 2024 - City of Des Moines administration buildings will be closed on Monday, September 2 to observe the Labor Day holiday.

Garbage, yard waste and recycling will not be collected on Monday, September 2. Collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. For more information, call the Des Moines Public Works 24/7 Customer Service Center at (515) 283-4950.

All Des Moines Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, September 2 for the holiday before reopening on Tuesday, September 3.

Labor Day is also the final day this year for concessions and rentals at Gray's Lake. For more information about bike and watercraft rentals and discounted concessions for the final weekend of rentals, visit DSM.city/GraysLakeRentals.
