FROM THE FIELDS: “Jahana Hayes Supports Farmers in Connecticut”

In a recent Letter to the Editor in The Register Citizen, a voter of Connecticut's Fifth District thanked Congresswoman Jahana Hayes for recently introducing the Save Our Small Farms Act.

This legislation extends crop insurance to small Connecticut farms like the voter's own, where yearly crop yields can be difficult to predict and often risky for farmers.

The Save Our Small Farms (SOS) Act also supports local livestock processing - a current bottleneck to selling our lamb and beef locally.

As a member of the Agriculture Committee, Jahana Hayes has clearly done her homework to address the needs of farmers like me.

I urge my fellow growers and consumers, including fellow beer drinkers, to join me in supporting Rep. Hayes' efforts to sustain local farming in Connecticut and support the survival of our agricultural communities in Litchfield County.

DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
"Jahana Hayes continues to put in the work to both understand the issues impacting Connecticut's farmers and how she can best solve them. George Logan can't say the same."
