We're continuing to monitor Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, which is forecast to become Hurricane Helene before making landfall somewhere along Florida's west coast.

Models agree the storm should track into the Gulf of Mexico before approaching the Panhandle on Thursday afternoon. The National Hurricane Center expects the storm to reach at least Category 3 strength before landfall Thursday evening.

Your cooperative has proactively secured additional mutual aid crews that will help restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

We ask our members to prepare for power outages due to the storm, have a plan in place and a storm kit that includes perishable food, water, first aid, prescription medication as well as tools like flashlights, batteries and a NOAA weather radio.
