James A. Garfield National Historic Site hosts 'Winter Evening at Lawnfield' program

James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor is pleased to announce a special holiday-themed program Saturday, December 7. "A Winter Evening at Lawnfield" will be held in the site's Visitor Center auditorium.

Join former First Lady Lucretia Rudolph Garfield (portrayed by Debbie Weinkamer) for an intimate program as she reminisces about the Garfield family's most cherished holiday memories. She will pass the matriarchal torch to daughter Mollie (portrayed by Christy Downs) in this heartwarming holiday program.

A matinee program will be held at 2:00 pm and is $15 per person. Reservation can be made through Eventbrite.

"We're excited to host this program again for the holidays," said Acting Site Manager Allison Powell. "and the addition of a matinee program will allow visitors who prefer to attend a daytime show the opportunity to enjoy this delightful encounter with "Mrs. Garfield.""

James A. Garfield National Historic Site is located at 8095 Mentor Avenue (U.S. 20) in Mentor, Ohio, approximately 25 miles east of Cleveland. The site offers guided tours of the Garfield home, museum exhibits, a biographical film, walking paths, two outdoor cell phone tours, and dozens of annual special events. The National Park Service completely restored the house in the late 1990s, making it one of the most impressive presidential homes preserved for the public.
