Oro Dam Blvd E x Washington Ave Single-Vehicle Traffic Accident

ORO DAM BLVD E x WASHINTON AVE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

Oroville, CA- On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at approximately 12:15 PM, the Oroville Police Department (OPD) received a 911 call regarding a single-vehicle traffic accident near the intersection of Oroville Dam Blvd E, Washington Ave, & Olive Hwy (Highway 162).

Oroville Police Officers arrived on the scene and began an initial traffic investigation, a witness of the accident stated that a Grey Chevy was traveling on Olive Hwy, when the vehicle veered off of the roadway, hitting a sign before coming to a stop off of the roadway. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were traveling near the intersection and stopped to assist the driver.

The reason for the vehicle veering off of the roadway is currently under investigation. First responders performed CPR on the driver for several minutes; once stable, the driver was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.

The driver is in critical but stable condition at the time of this release, and the driver's identity will not be released to the public.

First responders were on scene for approximately 1 hour; the roadway was cleared and reopened at approximately 1:13 pm.

This is an ongoing investigation, there is no further information to be provided at this time.
