From TikTok to table The Deliveroo 100 list highlights an increase in the 'TikTok to table' effect, with dishes and ingredients that have gone viral on social media over the past year making it onto the list of top trending items as Deliveroo customers hopped onto the bandwagon. From viral veg2 to Irish spice bags3, smash burgers4 and Instagram-worthy filling-packed sandwiches5, trending food items make up 40% of the global top ten list.
Local traditions Consumers opt for local delicacies on Deliveroo, with traditional-style dishes making up 30% of the global top ten list, including last year's global number one, a warming noodle soup by TamJai Yunnan Mixian in Hong Kong, a traditional sausage dish, 'Saucisse au Couteau purée, jus réduit' from Paris in France, and Ireland's local fast food phenomenon, a spice bag from Xian Street Food in Dublin.
Super salads Packed with fresh, nourishing greens and protein-rich ingredients, these healthier options make-up 30% of this year's global top ten list, compared to only 10% in 2023. Salads have more doubled in popularity since last year (2023) and have even beaten burgers out of the top ten for the first time since Deliveroo 100 started.
Poké power Originally from Hawaii, Poké, which means 'cut into pieces', has remained a popular fixture in the global trending list year after year. It has made six different appearances across four countries and is at the top of the global trending list. Italy is the biggest fan of Poké globally on Deliveroo, with the colourful bowl food being awarded the number one stop at a local country level.
Timeless favourites Nevertheless, consumers' love affair with pizza and burgers remains strong year on year within the top 100 list globally, accounting for 8% (pizza) and 15% (burgers) of the dishes. Also, more than doubling the number of appearances since last year, sandwiches and wraps are firmly back in baskets, with eight appearances across five countries in the top global 100 list, compared to four in 2024.

In the UK, Brits are wild for wings; the 8-piece boneless from Wingstop in London has won the number one spot in the UK Top 30 trending list. It is closely followed by dishes inspired by a salad that has just celebrated its 100th birthday, the SP Caesar from The Salad Project, and Seiz'a Caesar + Blackened Chicken from atis - both from London, bagging second and third positions.
There is a new favourite grocery essential in baskets, as Londoners can't get enough of the sell-out vegetable, cucumber, with Waitrose's whole cucumber clinching fourth place. Additionally, a new entry for 2024 in the tenth position is a white wine from Co-op ordered most by residents in the capital.
Finally, of note, a locally run sandwich shop from Manchester, Ad Maiora, has clinched position thirty in the UK trending list. Its Italian sandwich, 'Haaland Schiacciata,' is dedicated to a certain local footballer. It has a cult following of sandwich fans, including several professional Manchester football players, and boasts a 4.8-star Deliveroo rating and rave customer reviews exclaiming, 'Believe the hype!'.
