Women Business Owners Converge For Leadership Onboarding and Advocacy Days

The voice of one woman business owner makes a difference. Now imagine the power and impact of the 100-plus who converged earlier this month in Washington, DC for NAWBO HQ's 2023 Leadership Onboarding and Advocacy Days.

Leadership Onboarding kicked off the week-setting the stage for success for chapter leaders who came from near and far. They learned about running their business and chapter and gained insights from a panel of past chapter presidents. They also saw how they can make a difference in their chapters and communities through diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, among other things.

The day culminated with the recognition of our 2023-2024 chapter presidents and the installation of the NAWBO National Board. Lisa Coppola, founder and managing partner of The Coppola Firm, was installed as National Board Chair. Additionally, the NAWBO Institute-our 501(c)3 non-profit educational foundation-appointed Jeanette Armbrust as Institute Board Chair. Jeanette is CEO of Greenlight Leadership Consulting Group, LLC. The two days that followed-Advocacy Days-were filled with policy sessions on amplifying the message of women business owners and supporting their health and healthcare. There was also an Administration Briefing with the National Women's Business Council as well as a session on the barriers that microbusinesses face to providing workplace benefits.

Then, the group took Capitol Hill. They met on their own and together in pairs with legislative decision makers, speaking about NAWBO National's 2023 Advocacy Agenda and what women business owners need to succeed now and in the future. They shared personal stories and insights, and they made a difference for themselves and others.

Consider joining them next year! Meanwhile, NAWBO HQ is headed to Austin, Texas, this October 15-17 and bringing hundreds of women business owners from every part of the U.S. and even from around the globe. There will be an Annual Membership Meeting, 2-Day Conference and NextGen Forum. Don't miss your opportunity to make a difference. Register here.
