Subject Wanted by the Fifth District for Armed Robbery

New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with locating a subject wanted for armed robbery and aggravated battery.

According to investigators, at about 7:00 p.m. on July 9, 2024 , Derryl M. Welch (aka "Twin", black male, DOB: 01-07-1981, appx. 5'8", appx. 200 pounds) allegedly lured a victim into an alley way in the 6200 block of North Rampart Street. He struck the victim several times with a handgun, causing injury, and also robbed the victim before fleeing.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
