City-Parish to Hold Fall 2024 Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day on October 19

Baton Rouge, La. - October 7, 2024 - Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced that East Baton Rouge Parish residents can drop off their household hazardous materials for the City-Parish's Fall 2024 Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day on Saturday, October 19, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The semi-annual collection day will be held at LSU's Touchdown Village Parking Lot, located on South Quad Dr., across from Engineering Lane. Residents should remain in their vehicles while workers collect their materials.

"Our residents often use the spring and summer months to take on a wide range of projects that help tidy up and maintain their homes, gardens, and vehicles. As a result, they often end up with hazardous materials like chemicals, batteries, electronics, and other waste," said Mayor Broome. "Our collection event offers them the opportunity to safely and efficiently dispose of household hazardous materials, rather than storing them in their homes or improperly placing them in their carts for collection, ultimately allowing us to work together to keep our community and environment safe for everyone."

Only East Baton Rouge Parish residents presenting valid identification are eligible to participate. Commercial waste will not be accepted.
