University alumni, students, staff and friends had much to celebrate during Pitt Homecoming this weekend.

On Saturday, the community came together at Acrisure Stadium to cheer on the Panthers as they trounced the Youngstown State Penguins, 73-17. It was a historic moment for Pitt football, marking the first time the team has gone undefeated in nonconference play.

At halftime, this year's Spirit of Pitt awardees - undergraduates Ellie Coffield and Yaa Kornne and graduate student Dana Julian - were honored for demonstrating leadership, serving the community and embodying Pitt pride. Pamela Toto (SHRS '89, '96G, '10G), professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and director of the Healthy Home Lab, earned the 2024 ROC Spirit Award from the Pitt Alumni Association.

The post-game Victory Lights weren't the only thing that lit up the Cathedral of Learning during the weekend - the annual fireworks and laser show happened Friday night.

Other long-standing Pitt customs and events included a kickoff party for students and Welcome Back Reception for alumni, the Blue and Gold Bash, the Pitt Band Snake and an end-of-the-week celebration featuring food trucks, carnival games and giveaways.
