Free Webinar to Offer Homebuying Tips, Highlight Home Rewards Program

Folsom, Calif. - (Nov. 25, 2024) - SAFE Credit Union's mortgage and financial education experts are teaming up to provide a free mortgage webinar in December for those looking for the latest tips and resources for buying a home.

The free "Journey to Homebuying" webinar will be held from Noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Topics to be discussed include an overview on credit, down payments and interest rates, as well as SAFE's Home Rewards Program in which borrowers and members can receive up to 0.5 percent, equaling thousands of dollars, back on the purchase price of a new home.

"I truly believe that if it meets your needs and affordability, it's always a good time to buy a home," says SAFE Credit Union Home Loan Consultant Melinda Browning, who will facilitate the upcoming webinar. "We have seen a lot of changes in the market in the past few months, making it even more vital for those looking to buy a home to seek out the most current available information."

The upcoming no-pressure webinar is designed by SAFE's Certified Financial Education team to help homebuyers navigate the personal home and real estate journey. Attendees do not need to be members of SAFE to attend. All SAFE webinars are followed by a question-and-answer session.

Browning and real estate agent Melissa Sisneros will provide webinar attendees with information about the ins and outs of owning a home versus renting one and outlining the tax benefits of homeownership.

The webinar will also highlight the benefits of rewards programs such as SAFE's Home Rewards that offers homebuyers a rebate they can use toward closing costs or other expenses related to the home loan. Other benefits include as little as 3 percent down, flexible qualifying guidelines, a dedicated home loan consultant throughout the homebuying experience, local underwriting, and connecting with experienced real estate agents.

"Our members are really getting to work with experts in their field through our SAFE Home Rewards program," Browning says. "These are agents with five-star reviews and who are professionally secure."

The free homebuying webinar is one example of how SAFE Credit Union - a not-for-profit financial institution - passes savings along to members through no-cost financial education, as well as to borrowers through lower interest rates and fees.
