In Sumy, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of local authorities of the region.

"I want to thank you for the Sumy region, for the fact that we have preserved this very important region of our state. Now we must stand together to defend it all. This is a border region, and heavy daily strikes on the Sumy region continue. Every head of the community is important, the people are important. Thank you for protecting the people," he said.

One of the topics discussed during the meeting was the operation in the Kursk region. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it helped to prevent the occupation of the Sumy region's border communities.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of strengthening the region's air defense, adding that the relevant work with partners is already underway.

In addition, the parties discussed the development of state programs to reconstruct destroyed enterprises, provide compensation for farmers who lost their land due to the construction of fortifications, restore transformer substations and ensure mobile communications during power outages, enhance the protection of energy generation facilities, and support for Sumy region communities from other regions of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the Victory Plan presented in the United States.

"This is a plan to force Russia to end the war diplomatically. To force it precisely by Ukraine having a strong position," the President said.
