Getech Collaborates with ThinkOnward to Develop AI-Powered Critical Minerals Exploration Dashboard

Getech, a world-leading locator of subsurface resources, is pleased to announce a collaboration with ThinkOnward. The collaboration will leverage data science and potential fields data to enhance exploration techniques for critical minerals through the Tech Treasure Bounty.

ThinkOnward is a global ecosystem uniting a community of geoscientists, data scientists, and researchers leveraging advanced tools and technology to accelerate subsurface decisions. The ThinkOnward Tech Treasures Bounty aims to create a critical minerals dashboard for potential fields and critical minerals data. Participants are challenged to build mineral exploration dashboards using data science tools and gain novel insight into the data.

ThinkOnward Bounties are data science challenges that target specific problems leveraging the expertise of its global community. Participants compete to solve challenges using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) skills, with winning solutions rewarded monetarily and posted on the ThinkOnward GitHub page. Getech and ThinkOnward will jointly judge the solutions submitted by the contenders and participate in the award of prizes.

This project is part of Getech's drive to advance exploration for natural resources by leveraging artificial intelligence and in particular machine learning. The company uses its expertise in integrating advanced data analytics into exploration workflows to achieve better and more cost-effective results. Utilising AI and ML enhances Getech's ability to transform large datasets into actionable insights and reduce exploration risks, supporting efficient resource discovery.

Richard Bennett, CEO at Getech, commented:

"We are pleased to collaborate with ThinkOnward. This collaboration leverages our geoscience expertise and ThinkOnward's innovative community approach to advance the exploration of critical minerals, which are essential for the global energy transition. Since integrating AI and ML into our products, solutions and services, we've achieved greater efficiency in aiding resource exploration. We strongly believe in using cutting-edge technologies to advance the quest for a greener future."

Jeff Allyn, CEO at ThinkOnward, adds:

"Collaboration is the key that unlocks creativity, innovation, and progress. We are excited to announce our collaboration with Getech on the Tech Treasure Bounty, marking the first challenge we launched in collaboration with another organisation in the critical minerals sector. Together, we aim to leverage data science and potential fields data to enhance exploration techniques for critical minerals."
