Heads Up! Sycamore Tree Removal Located On Sunset Dr.

Please be advised: The city has been alerted to two dead sycamore trees in the right-of-way on Sunset Drive. Both trees overhang the road and one of them overhangs powerlines and a utility pole. Our city arborist has examined the trees and confirmed both are dead and pose a potential danger to the community. The city is in the process of scheduling the removal of both trees, which will take place in the coming days.

As a Tree City for over 20 years, Norcross' tree canopy is of great importance to the city, and the decision to remove trees is never taken lightly. We always perform our due diligence to ensure removal is absolutely necessary, and host annual tree-planting initiatives (not the least of which is our new Arboretum in Pinnacle Park, the first in Gwinnett!) in an effort to maintain and grow our canopy year after year.
