Open training in Food Systems - Colobmbia

Exploring Food Systems: A comprehensive training route around food systems

In an effort to strengthen knowledge and capabilities around food systems, the Food Systems Community of Practice in Colombia boosted by the CGIAR Initiative on National Policies and Strategies (NPS) has launched a training route focused on understanding these systems through interdisciplinary learning. This training aims to foster innovative and sustainable solutions to current and future challenges in food, land, and water systems in Colombia.

This seminar series brings together experts and practitioners part of the Community of Practice from various sectors and institutions to deepen knowledge and strengthen capacities in understanding food systems. Institutions such as the Alliance Bioversity and CIAT, Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD), FOLU, WWF, Pontifical Javeriana University (PUJ), University of Los Andes, and the Bank of the Republic are key partners in this initiative.

About the training route

This training route is designed for anyone interested in acquiring knowledge about food-related issues. The program will consist of four seminars, each lasting two hours, blending theoretical and practical approaches.

What to expect

Participants will have the opportunity to dive deep into the dynamics of food systems, learning about their characteristics, components, and the interconnections between various activities, stakeholders, and impacts. Through conceptual discussions and practical applications, we will explore everything from primary production, distribution, consumption, to waste management. This comprehensive approach is facilitated through our interactive platform, PlaSA Colombia.
