As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:
Stabbing - 1300 block of Daisy Avenue - On Sept. 25, 2024, at approximately 2:39 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Daisy Avenue regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and female adult suspect were in a verbal altercation, which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim. The suspect fled prior to officers' arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
