Ottawa man charged following an aggravated assault on an OC Transpo bus

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, July 26, 2024 1:06 pm

(Ottawa) - On July 25th, Frontline Patrol officers responded to a call for service for an assault on Queen Street at approximately 5:50pm where a woman sustained non-life threatening injuries from a pellet (BB) gun aboard an OC Transpo bus. She was transported to a local hospital.

The suspect fled the scene and he was located soon after and arrested in the vicinity.

Following an investigation, Reilly BLANCHARD-RIVINGTON, 20 years old, of Ottawa was charged by the Central Criminal Investigation Section with multiple offences, namely: Aggravated assault, Assault with a weapon, Possess weapon dangerous to public peace, Carry concealed weapon, Breach probation, Discharge air gun/intent to wound, Point firearm, Careless storage of firearm, Occupy motor vehicle with firearm and Disguise with intent.

He is scheduled to appear in court today.
