Don Bacon Lets Farm Bill Expire (Again) To Focus on His Campaign

The Farm Bill is expiring today after Don Bacon left Washington for the next month to prioritize his campaign. Bacon should have passed a new five year Farm Bill a year ago - instead, he let it expire for nearly 50 days last year and has failed to pass a new one yet again.

Over the last two years, Bacon has done nothing to pass a new five year Farm Bill, putting 44,000 farms and ranches and 5,753 dairy jobs in Nebraska at risk of missing out on critical monthly payments.

Nebraska families will also pay the price - failure to pass a new Farm Bill could cost U.S. taxpayers nearly $20 billion dollars and more than double the price of milk at grocery stores.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"Nothing is more important to Don Bacon than keeping his seat in Washington, even if it means leaving Nebraska farmers behind."
