MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Westbound Chestnut Expressway CLOSED between Grant Avenue & Nettleton Avenue

Where: Westbound Chestnut Expressway CLOSED between Grant Avenue & Nettleton Avenue in Springfield

When: 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Thursday, August 29

What: Contractor crews to work on the railroad crossing. Crews will begin placing detour signs before 8:30 a.m. in preparation of the Closure.

Traffic Impacts:

• Westbound Chestnut Expressway CLOSED between Grant Avenue & Nettleton Avenue in Springfield
• Lane Closed on westbound Chestnut Expressway west of Grant Avenue. Traffic will be routed north or south on Grant Avenue from Chestnut Expressway.
• Drivers urged to find alternate routes
• Detours include: Glenstone Avenue, Kearney Street and Kansas Expressway
• Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule
