City Prepares HUD PRO Housing Grant Application

The City of Tulsa is preparing to submit an application for the FY24 Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This competitive grant aims to help cities remove barriers to affordable housing production and preservation, expanding the supply of affordable housing and reducing housing costs in the long term.

Public Comment Period
A public comment period will be held from Friday, September 20, to Saturday, October 5. The City's draft application will also be available for public comment on the City of Tulsa's website. Residents are encouraged to review the application and share their feedback.

Public Hearing
A public hearing will be held on Wednesday, September 25, at 5 p.m. in Tulsa City Council Chambers on the 2nd Floor of Tulsa City Hall, 175 E. 2nd St. This public hearing is an opportunity for Tulsa residents to provide input on the City's proposal before it is submitted to HUD.

About the PRO Housing Grant
The PRO Housing program empowers communities to address the nation's affordable housing shortage by removing barriers such as restrictive zoning, lengthy permitting processes, and inadequate infrastructure. The City of Tulsa's application will focus on improving zoning codes, expediting the development process, and acquiring vacant properties for affordable housing development.
