Corewell Health Expands Gun Lake Services with New Walk-In Clinic

Corewell Health Pennock Hospital offers same-day services with a new walk-in clinic.

WAYLAND, Mich., July 15, 2024 - Corewell Health™ Pennock Hospital will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Corewell Health Pennock Hospital Walk-in Clinic - Gun Lake on Monday, July 29, from noon to 1 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the clinic, located in the same building as the existing Corewell Health primary care services, at 12851 Michigan 179, Wayland. Community members are welcome to attend the event and learn more about the medical team and services provided.

Corewell Health Pennock Hospital Walk-In Clinic - Gun Lake opened in June and is currently operating with limited hours. On Aug. 5, the clinic will expand its hours to operate Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"We're excited to enhance our services in the Gun Lake community with this new service," said Emily Welker, director of operations, primary health, Corewell Health. "This addition to our existing care options demonstrates our ongoing commitment to keeping health care local, and ensuring our rural communities have easy access to high-quality care close to home."

The ribbon cutting ceremony will include:
- Meet-and-greet with the provider group.
- Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments.
- Take-home information about the new walk-in clinic services.
- Remarks from Corewell Health leaders.

Corewell Health Pennock Hospital Walk-In Clinic - Gun Lake is open to the public. All ages can access services at the clinic, with no appointment necessary. Patients do not need to be an established patient of Corewell Health to visit the clinic. The Walk-in Clinic will provide a full range of services for non-emergent care for conditions such as allergies, sprains and strains, colds and more and will provide summaries back to primary care providers.
