Fall 2024 Semester Begins with Series of Welcome Week Events

Bakersfield College faculty and staff were excited to welcome new and returning students to campus for the Fall 2024 semester. To create opportunities for student involvement and community building, Student Life hosted several Welcome Week events during the first two weeks of classes.
During the first week of classes, several welcome tents on campus had BC swag for students, offered coffee and donuts on select days, and helped students find their classrooms. Students also had the opportunity to get together for an ice cream social, take a break to play their favorite board games and video games, create chalk art, paint, and more.
The welcome festivities concluded with the Student Involvement Festival, where students had the opportunity to preview various BC organizations and local businesses which provided academic information, employment opportunities, student involvement info, and volunteer possibilities. More than 80 local businesses participated, and more than 8,000 students participated.
