MoDOT's Southeast District Markets Exit 99 Property in Jackson, MO

SIKESTON-In an effort to bring in extra funds for roadway and bridge projects, the Missouri Department of Transportation's Southeast District is currently marketing a property in Cape Girardeau County. The 3.66-acre property is located off Interstate 55 at Exit 99 on Route 61 in Jackson, Missouri.

The property is located at the most eastern city limits of Jackson but is also 1,000+/- feet from Cape Girardeau city limits.

"This location provides prime commercial real-estate opportunities with the recent development of new hotels, a gas station and the Cape Girardeau SportsPlex," said Right of Way Liaison Mendy Sundermeyer. "The Cape Girardeau SportsPlex provides year-round events and attracts many visitors to the area. This location is also the main thoroughfare between the City of Cape Girardeau and the City of Jackson."

A utility easement for an overhead powerline encumbers 0.80 acres of the property. The property is accessible from a state-owned access road. The primary frontage is along Jackson Boulevard/Highway 61, but it's inaccessible from this roadway. The site is currently not zoned but is surrounded by sites that are predominantly zoned C-2, General Commercial District. Electricity, sewer and water are all available for the parcel.
