NOPD Seeking Suspect Vehicle in 2023 Hit and Run Investigation

The NOPD Traffic Division's Hit and Run Unit is seeking assistance from the public in locating a suspect vehicle and its driver/owner in the investigation of a hit-and-run crash that occurred on June 23, 2023, at the intersection of Wisner Boulevard and Fredericks Avenue and caused life-threatening injuries to the victim.

The incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. when a motorcyclist was struck by a gray pickup truck. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries, while the pickup truck fled the scene.

Through investigation, detectives have determined a gray Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck (stock photo provided) was seen turning left onto Wisner Boulevard at the time of the crash. After the crash, the vehicle fled the scene northbound in an aggressive manner over the Wisner Boulevard overpass at I-610.

The suspect vehicle may have sustained right front-end damage and possible passenger-side damage, consistent with being involved in a vehicle crash.

Anyone with additional information that can assist in this ongoing investigation is urged to contact NOPD Traffic Division Hit and Run Unit detectives at 504-658-6210. Those wishing to report information anonymously can do so by calling Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
