Ninety percent of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) stayed at the same speed this month with a few notable increases on the Netflix ISP Speed Index , our monthly update on which ISPs provide the best prime-time Netflix streaming experience.
Forty-four countries and regions were in the top performance tier in October: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, El Salvador, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Uruguay all registered an average speed of 3.0 Mbps.
Three ISPs experienced speed improvements of 0.4 Mbps this month. BOnline in Kuwait and Saigontourist Cable Television in Vietnam both increased from 2.2 to 2.6 Mbps. Jazztel DSL in Spain rose from 2.4 to 2.8 Mbps. There were no significant losses to any ISPs this month.
Venezuela was the only country to register an overall increase in speed since September's results , with its average speed rising from 2.0 to 2.2 Mbps.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime-time Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Higher Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times, and fewer interruptions. We also created a separate tool to check your current download performance: Visit https://FAST.com on any internet browser or download the FAST Speed Test iOS or Android app.
