Gabe Evans' far-right extremism is in the spotlight, making it clearer than ever that he's too extreme for Colorado. Check out the highlights:
"The Colorado Liberty Republicans, a far-right group that opposes all civil rights laws, ranked Evans as the seventh most conservative member of the Legislature"
"That's significantly above the 54% score given to state Sen. Barb Kirkmeyer, the Republican who ran for the same congressional seat last time and lost to Democrat Yadira Caraveo"
"Another right-wing group, the Colorado Union of Taxpayers, also placed Evans as the seventh most conservative member of the entire Colorado Legislature"
"CPAC, another well-known national group associated with fringe-right Republicans, gave Evans a 'Conservative Award for Excellence,' based on their tabulation of a 92% voting record on key right-wing issues in 2023"
Nothing surprising for an extremist who wants to ban abortion, has peddled conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, cozied up to far-right groups that aim to rewrite the Constitution, and compared same-sex marriage to "incest, pederasty, and bestiality."
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"From the state legislature to the campaign trail, Gabe Evans has shown Coloradans exactly what kind of Congressman he'd be - far-right and dangerous. In stark contrast, Yadira Caraveo is one of the most bipartisan Members of Congress and has spent her career giving back to her communities, which is why Coloradans will re-elect her on November 5th."
