Limestone High School Employee Charged with Criminal Sexual Assault

November 12, 2024, Peoria, IL - On Sunday, Ronnie Ray S. Baskin, 37, was charged with Criminal Sexual Assault for having sexual contact with a 17-year-old female. Baskin is a non-teaching employee at Limestone Community High School, and the female is a student. Today, a detention hearing was held, and the State's Petition to Detain was granted, meaning Baskin will remain in custody until trial.

Around 7:30 am Friday, Bartonville Police were made aware of sexually explicit text messages between a school employee, later identified as Baskin, and a student. When interviewed by police, Baskin admitted to knowing the girl was 17 years old, sending her the text messages, and having sexual contact with the victim. More charges could be filed when the case proceeds to grand jury.
