San Francisco, CA - August 23, 2024 - IKEA San Francisco is marking a meaningful milestone as it celebrates its one-year anniversary today. Since opening its doors, the store has become a bright spot in the Mid-Market area. To commemorate this special occasion, IKEA San Francisco is hosting IKEA Day, a week-long celebration running from Friday, August 23rd to Saturday, August 31st, offering exciting promotions, unique events, and community engagement activities.

Over the past year, IKEA San Francisco has created over 100 jobs, proudly contributing to the local economy. The store has seen a steady increase in visitors, further boosted by the opening of the Saluhall in April 2024. IKEA San Francisco has also increased its range of stocked products from 2,000 at opening to nearly 4,000, continuing to meet the diverse needs of San Franciscans and honor the commitment to making a better everyday life for the many people,

In response to customer demand, IKEA San Francisco has also added Order and Collect and Click and Collect services, making it one of the busiest pick-up points in the U.S. These services allow customers to conveniently order and collect any item from IKEA at the Market Street location.

IKEA San Francisco's dedication to the local community extends beyond retail. The store has been actively involved in community events, with a current focus on supporting college students through on-site events at San Francisco State University and in-store activities this weekend.

Anniversary Week Offers and Activities
As part of the anniversary celebration, visiting customers are in for a few San Francisco treats:

• On August 23rd, the first 20 IKEA Family members to visit the store will receive a $20 gift card**.

• The evening of August 23rd will culminate in a special anniversary karaoke event, featuring live singing performances by popular drag artists, hosted by Afrika America, with performers Hera Wynn and Amoura Teese.

Looking Ahead: Expansion into Colma, California
Building on the success of IKEA San Francisco, IKEA U.S. is excited to announce the upcoming opening of a new Plan & order Point with Pick-up in Colma, California, in the fall of 2024. This new location is part of IKEA's ongoing commitment to making the brand more accessible, convenient, and affordable for the many.

The Colma Plan & order Point will offer personalized interior design planning and an IKEA pick-up point, providing customers with an easy and convenient shopping experience closer to home.
