Update on Street Projects

City staff provides an update on 2024 street projects:

North Inlays

Spencer Street is now open to traffic with some work to be completed before fall seeding. Paving of the street on Reed is two-to-three weeks away. Subdrains are being installed and will be followed by gutter replacement. Work on Reed Street is expected to be completed before fall seeding.

4th Avenue Reconstruction

Trimming operations are taking place with some paving to start on Friday, August 9th, weather permitting. Paving at the intersection of Prairie Street and 4th Avenue should start the week of August 12th, followed by gutters and sidewalks. Seeding will follow up in late September.

Park Street

The stretch of Park Street between 5th and 6th Avenues will be reconstructed in 2024. This effort will include new water main, sewer replacement, and a drop-off for the daycare. Pavement removals will start the week of August 19th. The street will reopen later this fall.

2024 Streets Project

All asphalt work is completed on this project with seeding and mulching to occur this fall.

Scout Subdivision

The 8 lots in the southeast corner of the site will be ready for development by year's end. Some sanitary sewer and storm sewer work is taking place now. The bulk of the work on the remainder of the site will occur in 2025.

West Street/Highway 146 Crosswalks

Work is taking place now with the detour in place until sometime next week. The highway should be open to traffic by mid next week.
