In the Shots article, titled "Drugmakers and Pharmacists Battle Over Who Gets to Make Obesity Drugs," updated Dec. 12, 2024, Rosebush opines that the FDA didn't do enough research before taking the drugs off the shortage list and therefore didn't understand the number of patients for which drugs were being compounded. On the Dec. 12, 2024, Morning Edition program, he states that the FDA did not ask about the numbers before taking the drugs off the list.
