(July 2, 2024) The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is pleased to announce new discounted all-day parking options for people using one of the city's four SmartPark public parking garages.

With parking demand low in Portland's parking garages and with many downtown summer activities planned to create a thriving, safe and economically viable downtown, SmartPark will be reducing their prices for the summer.

Discounted daily rates will be in effect from July 1 to September 30, 2024 for all-day weekday parking between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. to reflect current unmet demand.

Detailed rates and information about each garage can be found at www.portland.gov/smartpark.

"A thriving downtown is critical for achieving the city's long-term transportation system multimodal goals," said Transportation Director Millicent Williams. "I'm pleased we are able to help boost activity by encouraging visitors from far and wide to enjoy the fabulous events and activities happening downtown this summer with these discounted summer rates while our garages are still under capacity."

SmartPark is Portland's most affordable and conveniently located parking. Shoppers, business employees and clients, and visitors enjoy downtown city-owned SmartPark public garages with nearly 4,000 parking spaces. SmartPark garages offer the lowest short-term hourly rates and are close to your favorite restaurants, retailers, and cultural venues. Our mission is to support the economic viability of the Central City by providing an affordable system of parking garages which primarily meets the short-term needs of shoppers, visitors, and business clients and by investing in other Central City transportation improvements.

Monthly parking passes and other amenities, including EV charging stations, ADA parking, bike parking, and carshare parking, are also available and vary by parking garage location. Many of the parking garages also serve as mobility hubs, with access to TriMet MAX light rail and bus lines.
