Nedd Brockmann's world record attempt to run 1000 miles and raise $10 million for Aussies experiencing homelessness

Nedd Brockmann is ready to get uncomfortable as he embarks on a world record challenge to run the fastest 1,000 miles ever, with the aim of raising $10 million for We Are Mobilise. Starting at 4pm this Thursday, 3 October through Sunday, 13 October, Nedd will run an astonishing 160 kilometres every single day for 10 days with all the action streamed exclusively on TikTok LIVE.

Supporters and fans can watch Nedd's Uncomfortable Challenge by following @Nedd.Brockmann on TikTokwhere they will be able to send him messages of support and donate directly to We Are Mobilise on the platform. The world record for the fastest time to cover 1,000 miles (1,610km) on foot is 10 days, 10 hours, 30 minutes, and 36 seconds, set by Yiannis Kourous in 1988. To break the record, Nedd will have to run 403 laps of the 400m track at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre each day.

It's hard to put into words how grateful I am for the life I have. I'm incredibly blessed and lucky to have so much support around me and people who believe in me. I never, in my wildest dreams, expected the response i got from the run across Australia from so many of you amazing people. As we are two weeks out from this next big big scary goal of mine, I just want to take a moment to thank you all for being on this journey with me. Who knows what happens on this run, who knows what happens in this life. One minute you're here, next minute you're gone. Grab it by the plums, do shit that scares the living hell out of you and do things for others. You never know what may happen. Appreciate the fk outta you all. Let's raise some cash for mobilise, and let's break this fkn record (Link to donate in my bio ❤️)

Nedd's mates including Hello Sport, Matty J, Swag on the Beat, and other legends will host an Hour of Power on the livestream across key nights to check in on his progress, how he's feeling, and the fundraising efforts.

"No one knows what's going to happen in life and I don't know what's going to happen on this run - but I'm going to grab it by the plums, give it everything I've got, and raise money for the Aussies who need it most," said Nedd. "I'm stinging that no matter where people are in Australia or around the world, they'll be able to watch on TikTok LIVE. More importantly, they'll be able to donate directly from TikTok to We Are Mobilise without leaving the livestream."

@nedd.brockmann October 3rd 2024, I'll be attempting to break the world record for the fastest time to cover 1000 miles (1610km) on foot, while aiming to raise 10 million dollars to help Aussies experiencing homelessness in the process. The current record stands at 10 days, 10 hours, 30 minutes and 36 seconds. This record has stood since 1988, and for good reason. To break it down, that's roughly 160 kilometres a day for 10 days in order to break the record. It would be ridiculous of me not to honour the people who have gone before me as (I think) I understand the depths one must go to achieve such a thing. Held by one of, if not the greatest ultra runner of all time, Yiannis kouros's feat of endurance is simply mind blowing. However, if you're going to do something, don't go in half assed, throw everything at it. Everything. Sometimes you've just gotta ask yourself, "what if" I must state just how excited and grateful I am at the opportunity to put myself out there and lay it all on the line again in order to make a change in the world (no matter how small). All in the hope to leave a lasting impact well after I'm gone. We only get one chance at this life and I'd hate to die wondering. There's no turning back now, the fun is just about to start time to get to work. Yes, 403 laps of the 400m Olympic park track a day. Nedd is also encouraging Aussies to join him by committing to their own Uncomfortable Challenge and raise money for the 122,494 Australians, including many children, experiencing homelessness. "This isn't just about endurance or attempting to break a world record; I want it to be a rallying cry for people who want to have a crack, to stand together, and make a difference. Workplaces, schools, gyms, and groups of mates, can sign up and have a crack at their own Uncomfortable Challenge between October 20th to 29th," added Nedd.
