Investigators Working To Identify Driver Involved In Hit And Run Crash On Nolensville Pike

UPDATED: The 10-year-old involved in Saturday's crash on Nolensville Pike, Emily Sanchez-Ramirez, has died as a result of her injuries at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Additionally, her mother, Laura Ramirez-Gonzalez, 28, has been upgraded to critical condition and remains at Vanderbilt.

MNPD Traffic Unit investigators are working to identify the driver of a red Nissan that struck and critically injured a 10-year-old girl Saturday evening while she was riding an electric scooter on Nolensville Pike in the bike lane with her mother.
The investigation indicates the scooter was traveling north toward Paragon Mills Road in the southbound bike lane when the Nissan entered the bike lane at a high rate of speed and struck the scooter.

The 10-year-old was transported to Vanderbilt Pediatrics with critical injuries. Her 28-year-old mother was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The Nissan fled outbound on Nolensville Pike. It has front end damage, a broken headlight and a temporary tag.
