Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. announced the application period for the federal Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) opens on November 18, 2024, and runs until March 31, 2025. LIEAP is a federally funded program that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs by providing a one-time per-year benefit.
"LIEAP is a great program that has helped thousands of Kansans with their winter heating costs," Senator Marshall said. "Right now, many people are under enormous financial stress. My hope is that we can bring awareness to this financial aid and help lower families' energy bills, keeping Kansans homes warm and safe as winter months can lead to dangerous conditions."
Applications can be submitted online HERE or in person at upcoming application assistance events held across the state. Eligibility is based on income, and the level of assistance varies.
Additional winter heating assistance and resources are available on Senator Marshall's website HERE.
