Heads of state attend the ceremony of launching joint projects

Following the bilateral talks, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev solemnly opened branches of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers in Almaty and the South Kazakhstan State University named after M. Auezov in Chirchik.

The mutual opening of branches of the Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan universities became another evidence of the dynamically developing multifaceted relations between the two fraternal countries.

The specified education institutions will train highly qualified personnel in in-demand technical areas.

The heads of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan also participated in the ceremony marking the arrival of the first freight train on the route "Xi'an - Khorgos - Almaty - Saryagach - Tashkent".

The freight train departed from the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in Xi'an for the dry port "Khorgos". There, the containers were reloaded and sent by the Kazakhstan Railways through the station "Saryagach" to the final destination at the station "Tashkent".

This route will reduce the time of cargo transportation, thereby giving a powerful impetus to the growth of trade.
