Federal Air Marshal Service Hiring Event in the Chicago Region

ROSEMONT, IL- The Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) is hosting a two-day expedited hiring event Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Wednesday, Sept. 18 to fill entry-level Federal Air Marshal positions for the Chicago region as well as nationwide.

The event will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont, IL 60018 and will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT both days. This two-day event provides interested applicants an opportunity to learn more about the FAMS mission and accelerate through steps of the hiring process including submitting an online application, completing the FAMS computer based hiring assessment, and participating in a structured panel interview, one-on-one interview and an onsite physical training assessment.

Applicants should bring the following to the event: resume, two forms of government issued identification, college transcripts (if applicable), and DD-214 or SF-50 forms if they are prior military or were employed with the federal government. Additionally, a completed physician clearance form and applicant waiver for the physical training assessment portion are also required.

Applicants must be a U.S. or naturalized citizen between the ages of 21 and 36, possess a valid driver's license, have a minimum of three years of work experience, or have a bachelor's degree or higher. A combination of education and experience is considered. Veterans may receive a waiver allowing for employment after the age of 36 if they are hired prior to their 40th birthday Applicants must pass a pre-employment background check, polygraph and medical evaluation following the event.

The starting annual salary potential plus locality pay in Chicago for entry-level Federal Air Marshals within the first year is $80,994. Following graduation from the academy and the remainder of year one, you will earn Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) pay, raising the salary to $101,242. Locality pay for the Chicago area is 30.41%.
