DOD Awards Contract to General Dynamics for Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture Ground Management and Integration Work in Grand Forks

Work will partially be performed in Grand Forks, North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. - The U.S. Air Force announced it awarded an additional $491,607,268 modification to a previously awarded contract to General Dynamics, a global aerospace and defense company. This contract will go towards a project supporting the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture Ground Management and Integration and operation and sustainment efforts. This announcement brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $887,797,585.

The work is expected to be completed by September 30, 2029 and will be performed in Grand Forks, North Dakota and Huntsville, Alabama. The Space Development Agency (SDA) is the contracting activity.

"The United States must develop space assets at the speed of China, and that takes major investments," said U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND). "This award acknowledges that reality and I'm glad Grand Forks is positioned so well to contribute to this important mission."

As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), Cramer leads the effort for support of legislation and initiatives to advance space-based capabilities and missions.

In August, Cramer flipped the switch to bring the SDA Operations Center North online at Grand Forks Air Force Base (GFAFB), participated in a Grand Forks Base Retention Committee meeting, toured the University of North Dakota (UND) National Security Corridor, and announced new Navy personnel at GFAFB. Cramer also joined E-Space CEO Greg Wyler in meeting with UND faculty and SDA staff to discuss workforce development and initiatives, and announced educational initiatives between SDA and UND.
