30th Annual Canton Fine Arts Exhibition To Feature A Variety Of Works By Michigan Artists

Recently created art in a variety of media is on display during the "30th Annual Canton Fine Arts Exhibition," which The Gallery at Cherry Hill will celebrate with a special reception and awards presentation on Thursday, October 10, 2024. The public is invited to attend this free event, which is scheduled to begin with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at 7:00 p.m., at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road in Canton, MI.

Bringing together works of some of the best artists throughout southeast Michigan, this popular exhibit contains works in a variety of media, including: Oil, Acrylic, Photography, Watercolor, Graphite, Inks, Conte/Pastel, Pen & Ink, Sculpture, and Mixed Media. Over 140 works were submitted, resulting in the selection of over 30 pieces as part of the exhibition, which will run from now through October 26, 2026, in The Gallery at Cherry Hill. This year's opening reception will feature light refreshments and a cash bar.

"Once again we are so pleased to showcase the works of these highly talented artists in Canton," said The Gallery at Cherry Hill Coordinator Elli Fassois. "We look forward to hosting the 30th Canton Fine Arts Opening Reception on October 10 and we will be able to hear directly from the juror and winners whose amazing art will be exhibited throughout the month in our gallery."

This year's distinguished juror is artist Tom Hale, whose love for painting has earned him numerous competitive awards. His work is shown extensively throughout the nation and has been exhibited in both national and international competitions. Hale has completed over thirty-one hundred original paintings, which are in the hands of corporate, private, and individual art collections. His list of clients includes major corporations and individuals from all walks of life who reside in several countries. His awards total nearly 400 and the one that he is most proud of is the GOLD METAL OF HONOR from the 113th Annual American Watercolor Society (AWS) in New York City for his painting titled "CHROME", a detailed image of a 1929 DUESENBERG.

Featured artists, include: Elena Adam; Susan Aitken; Laura Cavanagh; Nancy Coumoundouros; Anthony Dedakis; Michelle DeLange; Robert du Nord; Alex Kautz; Brant MacLean; Jill McGinn; John Middlestead; Christine Panyard; Robert Perrish; David Petropoulos; Dean Rogers; Ronald Rutherford; Chuck Schroeder; Josephine Sheehy; Doug Stein; Pamela Stoddard; Alicia Vasseli; Nancy Wanchik; Lydia Hannah Wilson; and Victoria Wolf.

The Village Theater Gallery at Cherry Hill has exhibition hours throughout the year (except for major holidays), Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and Thursday and Friday from 4-8 p.m. by appointment, and during all public performances. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
