The Center for Faculty Development (CFD) has launched a new podcast series, "Faculty Matters," hosted by Mary Balkun, Ph.D.,Professor of English and Director of Faculty Development. This bi-weekly podcast features insightful discussions on topics central to the faculty experience, including teaching, research and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Each 30-minute episode brings listeners into conversations with experts from within Seton Hall and the broader academic community.
The first three episodes to date have covered a range of engaging topics relevant to faculty members across disciplines.
Upcoming episodes will include discussions with Anthony Haynor, Ph.D. and Mark Horowitz, Ph.D. on the Heterodox Academy, as well as Judith Stark, Ph.D. who will share insights about a new faculty seminar focused on sustainability.
According to Professor Balkun, the podcasts are intended to supplement the traditional CFD workshops. They are a way to highlight initiatives on campus and in higher education more broadly as well as to facilitate informed and informal discussions on topics of interest. Some of these topics will then be explored more fully in workshops and other CFD events.
"Faculty Matters" is available through various sources, including the CFD website, the University Podcast Library and the Provost's weekly newsletter. Members of the Seton Hall community can also subscribe to the podcast through the CFD website, where they can "Follow" and then listen on their preferred platform.
