Meeting with the Ambassador of Malaysia to Uzbekistan

On December 11, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Khaydarov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilham Tuah Bin Illias.

The current state and prospective areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed, as well as the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the Uzbek-Malaysian Summit in Tashkent and the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Kuala Lumpur in May 2024.

The high dynamics and progress of cooperation in all priority areas, the intensification of exchanges of delegations at all levels were noted with satisfaction.

The interest in accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects of leading companies in such areas as the chemical industry, energy, digital technologies, electrical engineering, halal industry, Islamic finance and others was confirmed.

The ways of developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and ASEAN were discussed taking into account the transition of the chairmanship of this organization to Malaysia in 2025. Particular attention was paid to the organizational and substantive aspects of visits and events planned for 2025 at various levels.
