Burbank, CA (November 5, 2024) - A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempt murder stemming from a shooting that took place on September 10, 2024.
On September 10, 2024, at about 4:40 PM, Burbank Police officers responded to Saint Joseph Medical Center regarding a male who was being treated for a gunshot wound who was dropped off by a private party. When officers arrived, they spoke with the medical staff who confirmed the male had sustained a single gunshot wound and was transferred to a trauma center for additional care. Detectives later spoke with the victim who was treated for his injury and released later the same day.
During the investigation, Burbank Police detectives learned that the shooting occurred in the area of Victory Boulevard and Allen Avenue, in the City of Glendale. Burbank Police detectives identified the suspect as a known local gang member.
The investigation revealed the suspect was driving in the area when he observed another vehicle occupied by three individuals whom he believed were from a rival gang. The suspect, who originally had his girlfriend and 7-year-old child in the vehicle with him, directed them to exit the vehicle. The suspect then fired multiple gunshots at the victim's vehicle, striking one of the occupants, and fled from the location.
On October 30, 2024, Burbank Police detectives located the suspect in the community of Chatsworth and took him into custody without incident. The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Ramon Alberto Carrillo, a resident of Glendale, CA. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Carrillo was out on bail for an unrelated City of Los Angeles felony firearm and drug possession case.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office reviewed this case and filed three counts of attempt murder and one count of shooting at an occupied vehicle. Mr. Carrillo remains in custody without bail.
The Burbank Police Department is grateful for the collaborative effort with the Glendale Police Department who assisted with this investigation.
