District 2 UDO Meeting rescheduled for Oct. 23

Newton County is hosting a series of community meetings to gather input during the update of its Unified Development Ordinance.

The County's Unified Development Ordinance combines land use regulations such as zoning, subdivision regulations and design guidelines into a single document to bring the Comprehensive Plan to life.

In July, Newton County began working with consultant Kendig Keast to analyze its current plans. Following the review stage, step two of the process is public outreach. Newton County is now going into the community to gather information from the public.

Previous meetings were held in Districts 1, 3, 4 and five with the District 2 meeting being rescheduled.

The District 2 Community Meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Oak Hill elementary School, 6243 Hwy 212, Covington at 6 p.m.

Residents are invited to participate, regardless of their district.
