WASHINGTON - The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) president and CEO David A. Sampson issued the following statement on the results of the 2024 presidential election.
"APCIA congratulates President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Vance on their election victory. Now is the time for national leadership that promotes unity and focuses on the business of governance to address rising costs impacting all Americans.
"Middle America has felt the impact of record economic inflation and legal system abuse that is impacting the cost of goods and services that drive up insurance premiums. Record natural disasters call for a wholistic approach to mitigation and resilience. Regulatory overreach has stymied economic growth and innovation throughout the economy and added unnecessary costs, especially in the financial services and energy sectors. APCIA looks forward to working with the Trump Administration, leaders in both parties and state and local officials on long-term solutions that will help lower costs and address these and other factors that impact insurance affordability and availability.
"APCIA thanks President Biden and Vice President Harris for their leadership and historic investment to improve the country's infrastructure and increase wildfire resiliency."
