Contractor to remediate diesel fuel/motor oil spill

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a diesel fuel and motor oil spill cleanup is scheduled for next Tuesday, August 13, on Route 897 in Lancaster County. The work site is about 0.5 miles east of the intersection with Ridge Road in East Cocalico Township.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 13. The northbound lane of Route 897 will be closed. Flaggers will direct alternating directions of traffic through the work zone on the southbound lane.

This may cause delays. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving traffic and construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway.

This work was previously scheduled for Thursday, August 8, but was postponed due to rain.
