Adaeze Aroh, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of public health services, recently co-authored a chapter of a textbook and two articles that were published in academic journals.

Aroh's chapter, titled "Policy and Politics of COVID-19 Response Mask Mandates: The Conflict between Individual Autonomy and Public Health Mandates in the United States," was published in the book "COVID-19 and Public Health: Global Responses to the Pandemic." The chapter analyzes the tensions between personal freedoms and public health requirements during the pandemic, which contributed to the broader discourse on effective policy responses.

Aroh also co-authored an article titled "Adherence Trends to Physical Activity Guidelines in Adults With Cardiovascular Diseases and the Impact of Wearables on Adherence Findings From a National Representative Sample" that was published in the Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing. The article examines adherence trends to physical activity guidelines among adults with cardiovascular diseases in the United States and explores the relationship between engagement with wearable devices and adherence to these guidelines.

Aroh's other article, titled "Perceived Barriers to Pap Screening Influence Adherence to Screening Recommendations Among Black Women," was published in the National Library of Medicine. The article examines how constructs of the Health Belief Model are associated with pap screening adherence among a sample of Black women, including African American and sub-Saharan African immigrant populations.
