EL PASO, TEXAS - On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, deputies from the Community Services division of the EL Paso County Sheriff's Office participated in a Red Ribbon presentation at Idea Edgemere High School, situated at 15101 Edgemere, El Paso, TX 79928. The presentation was intended for students in grades 9 through 12. The presentation on drug awareness was both informative and eye-opening for the students in attendance. They were educated on the various effects that different drugs can have on the body and mind and the potential consequences that can result from using them. This included not only the immediate effects of drug use but also the long-term impact it can have on one's health and well-being. In addition to the discussion on drug awareness, students were also given a unique opportunity to see the equipment and demonstrations used by Sheriff's Office uniformed personnel. This allowed them to better understand the daily duties that a Sheriff Deputy in the county undertakes and the importance of their role in keeping the community safe. Overall, the presentation served as a valuable learning experience for the students, providing them with important information on both drug awareness and law enforcement.
