Location:

50000 block of 63rd Avenue, Lawrence Township, Van Buren County

Suspect:

21 year old female from Paw Paw

Narrative:

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on the above date and time, deputies were called to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a residence at the above location. Upon their arrival they located the vehicle and driver outside of the vehicle. The driver was uninjured. Contact was also made with the homeowners, who were outside of the home at the time of the crash and also uninjured.

The driver had been traveling on 63rd Avenue when it lost control while maneuvering a curve in the roadway. The SUV then drove into a portion of the residence at that location.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash. Deputies developed enough evidence to charge the driver with operating while intoxicated. She was subsequently lodged at the Van Buren County Jail and is pending arraignment.
