Trading members may note that currently there are 8 partitions in equity derivatives segment. Each partition is serving a set of products. It is proposed to increase the number of partitions from 8 to 10 effective from July 8, 2024. This would mean that from July 8, 2024, trading will happen in 10 partitions for all the products.

The partition information is provided in equity derivatives master file (EQD_CODDMMYY.csv) under column 13(Partition ID).<_o3a_p>

Impact on ETI based applications

All ETI applications which are making use of partition ID for retransmission of orders, trades and making use of other messages which are partition oriented, will have to make necessary changes to query for 10 partitions instead of 8.<_o3a_p>

The number of partition information is also part of Session logon response (Template ID 10001) message of ETI API under field name NoOfPartition(1770).<_o3a_p>

Also, kindly note that exchange will create new products as well as move few products from existing 8 partitions to partition 9 and 10 gradually over a period. The change of partition will be updated in the EQD_CODDMMYY.csv file whenever a product is moved from one partition to another.<_o3a_p>

Impact on EMDI/ EOBI

The movement of product will have impact on the existing EOBI/EMDI stream. We have partition wise EOBI/ EMDI multicast streams and thus movement of product from one partition to other would mean that the market data for that product will not be available from the multicast stream of the partition where it originally belonged, and it will be available from the multicast stream of the new partition where it has been moved. Refer the BOLTPLUS Configuration file version 1.10 (attached) for details on partition wise multicast stream of EMDI and EOBI. All members are requested to make necessary changes in their EOBI/EMDI applications if any, for the above continual activity of product movement.

A mock session will be conducted on 6^th July 2024 wherein the member applications can test for the addition of new partitions. <_o3a_p>
